One of the allures of E Unoto Retreat that makes us unique is the opportunity for our guests to be in direct association with the Maasai, one of Tanzania's most well-known tribes. Most of our team attending to your needs are Maasai, as are the E Unoto performers. Additionally you may visit one of the local Maasai Bomas (villages) by your vehicle or on foot for a further insight into their culture. Click here to learn more about the Maasai Boma excursions.
The sub-tribe we are working with is known as Ilaturok, which means farmers. These people want stability and growth and E Unoto Retreat is devoting its efforts to help them.
Over 80% of our employees are Maasai and we donate 10% of our profits to the local Maasai community. Our funds have contributed towards the construction of a local school and provision of fresh water. Future projects include a medical dispensary and other community development projects.
The opportunity to learn more of the Maasai and their lifestyle, purchase their famous beaded jewelry, ask questions and take photographs, is a unique experience that E Unoto Retreat is proud Click here to offer our guests. for more information on the Maasai.
